Live Battle is here: Learn together and understand instantly
A question appears on the screen. Students reach for their smartphones. The timer starts and the first answers come in.
With one click, the lecturer reveals the answer. Everyone can immediately see which answer is correct, how the responses are distributed and where uncertainty remains.
This is exactly what the new Learn Battle Live Battle is designed for.
Lecturers can turn a lecture, seminar, tutorial or online session into a shared learning activity within minutes.
Everyone answers the same questions at the same time. The lecturer controls the flow and decides when to reveal an answer and when to move on to the next question.
A traditional knowledge check becomes a shared learning experience.
Everyone can join instantly
Joining is deliberately simple.
Students can participate through the Learn Battle app or directly in their web browser. They can choose whether to play anonymously or use an existing Learn Battle account.
No additional account is required. This means a Live Battle can be used in a class without a lengthy setup process.
The format is optimised for up to 150 participants, making it suitable for small seminars as well as large lectures.
The lecturer controls the pace
Students have a defined amount of time to answer each question.
The lecturer then actively reveals the answer. Only at this point do participants see the correct answer and the distribution of all responses.
This is one of the most valuable moments in a Live Battle. The results show more than whether a question was answered correctly. They create an opportunity to discuss different approaches, common mistakes and unclear concepts.
After the discussion, the lecturer starts the next question. There is always enough time for explanations and follow up questions.
Friendly competition without public pressure
An anonymous live ranking adds excitement to the session.
Participants can see how they compare with the group without revealing their identity.
Friendly competition can increase attention and encourage active participation. At the same time, the learning environment remains accessible and low pressure.
The aim is not grading. It is about reviewing, trying, discussing and understanding together.
Use existing learning content
Lecturers do not have to create a new set of questions for every Live Battle. They can:
- select existing questions from their learning packs
- create new questions for a specific session
- use suitable questions from the Learn Battle Community
All question types available in Learn Battle can be used.
A quick review with three questions is just as possible as a longer exam preparation challenge.
Results that support the next teaching decision
Lecturers receive a clear overview of:
- the distribution of selected answers
- each question and its answer options
- the response distribution for every question
- a graph with a trend line
This makes it easier to see which concepts are already understood and where further explanation is needed.
If a large part of the group selects the same incorrect answer, this may point to a shared misconception. The lecturer can address that specific line of reasoning and clarify it with the group.
Designed for different teaching situations
A Live Battle can activate prior knowledge at the beginning of a session.
It can bring new energy into the room after a longer theoretical section.
At the end of a lecture, it helps students retrieve the most important ideas.
The format is also suitable for tutorials, online sessions and shared exam preparation.
In a traditional lecture, individual contributions rarely show whether the entire group has understood a concept.
With Live Battle, everyone can participate at the same time. Lecturers gain an immediate picture of the current level of understanding. Students experience a short and motivating learning activity with direct feedback.
